Professional Development Committee
The Education Committee promotes and provides Business Analysis educational opportunities for the local chapter. The committee reports to the Vice President of Education. Some responsibilities may overlap with the Program Committee.
Responsibilities include:
- Promote Business Analysis professionalism through the facilitation of development and educational opportunities for members.
- Document and share best practices identified from IIBA and organizations around the world.
- Develop relationships with local businesses and learning institutions to promote and offer courses in Business Analysis.
- Communicate to members all BA professional development opportunities as well as future changes to the (BABOK) BA Body of Knowledge.
- Work closely with the Program committee to organize speakers and topics that will provide educational opportunities for chapter members.
- Arrange and manage training events.
- Develop evaluation tool to collect feedback on training events and activities.
- Gather information from Business Analysis related websites for use on the local chapter on-line reference library.
- Provide information to the Communication Committee to be used in the chapter newsletter

Certification Subcommittee
The Certification Subcommittee guides, facilitates, and mentors members in the activities related to preparation for the Certificate Business Analysis Professional™ (CBAP®) certification exam. The committee is responsible for providing comprehensive reference material, assistance with personal development strategies, and learning environments suitable for members to prepare for the exam. The Committee reports to the Vice President of Professional Education.
Responsibilities include:
- Organize and distribute reference information to provide chapter members with knowledge on the benefits and prerequisites to obtaining the (CBAP®) certification.
- Organize and facilitate small group activities (study groups) to prepare for the CBAP exam.
- Collaborate with Education and Program committees to arrange for IIBA Endorsed Education Provider training to assist members in preparing for the certification exam.
- Research and communicate to members IIBA endorsed courses that will provide Continuing Development Unit (CDU) opportunities for those seeking to obtain or retain CBAP certification.
- Provide CBAP applicants and newly certified members with a method to track their personal CDU status earned from chapter sponsored certified training or other professional development.
- Work with IIBA to identify local testing centers.
- Develop evaluation tool to collect feedback on chapter certification interest preparation process.
- Provide the overall tools for a member to succeed as a professional business analyst.
- Provide information to the Communication Committee to be used in the chapter newsletter.
