Membership Committee

The Membership Committee builds and maintains a robust and active membership in the Rochester Chapter of the IIBA.

Join the Membership Committee and help us to recruit new members, improve our infrastructure to ensure the highest quality membership experience, and make new friends with others passionate about the Business Analysis discipline!

The following are the overall Membership Committee’s responsibilities:

  • Attend and actively participate in the success of member recruitment events (e.g., participation at career fairs, etc.)
  • Help prepare the annual plan for organizing, coordinating and promoting IIBA membership in the Rochester Chapter
  • Maintain Membership Data:
    • Establish and maintain a current Chapter membership list and database
    • Provide membership metrics and report to the Committee on a periodic basis (quarterly is minimum)
    • Present membership status and trends to the Committee
    • Prepare and submit reports specified by the President
    • Receive monthly membership files      
  • Provide Membership Mentoring:
    • Create and maintain Membership area on website (UI, documents… etc...)
    • Compile a current file of the Institute’s members in the greater Rochester area and to solicit their application with the IIBA Rochester Chapter
    • Facilitate the processing and submission of application forms and payments to the chapter
    • Initiate and send a “we missed you” letter for regulars who skip XX meetings.
    • Develop and implement a member survey in conjunction with the VP of Programs and VP of Professional Development
    • Develop and send out New “Certificate Business Analysis Professional™” (CBAP) congratulatory letters in conjunction with VP of Professional Development
    • Develop a reward for members of long standing (i.e.5 & 10 year anniversary pins).
    • Send letters to members up for renewals encouraging them to renew
  • Create and Implement Membership Plan:
    • Implement the member recruitment plan (e.g. calling companies, meeting with representative, planning of events, etc.)
    • Develop and implement a retention program to follow up with each member who does not renew
    • Establish and maintain policies for membership rights and privileges and ways to reduce membership attrition
    • Develop and send new member packet to new members, monthly
    • Contact new members welcoming them to the Chapter, answering questions and encouraging them to come to the meetings

Volunteers Subcommittee

The Volunteers Committee attracts, retains, and manages volunteers.  Volunteers are vital to any chapter’s ability to provide value. Volunteers provide the structure, planning, and logistics that support the work of the chapter. This committee will be responsible to define how this shall be done and manage volunteers.

Responsibilities include:
  • Attract Volunteers
  • Engage Volunteers
  • Recognize Volunteers
  • Retain Volunteers
  • Document effort hours for Continuing Development Units (CDUs)
